The idea is to make the decision at the end of 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The plant, with an annual capacity of 120,000 tonnes, will strengthen Hydro's capabilities to produce low-carbon aluminium. Specifically, it will be able to produce low-carbon recycled aluminium, with a&nbsp;<em><strong>CO2 footprint of less than 4 kg CO2<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;per kg of aluminium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">For example, the Hydro Circal extrusion ingot contains at least&nbsp;<em><strong>75% post-consumer scrap<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;certified by DNV GL, with a CO2 footprint of only 2.3 kg of CO2 per kg of aluminium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">It should be noted that aluminum is unlimited recycling, so keeping post-consumer scrap is decisive in the production cycle. In fact&nbsp;<em><strong>recycling requires 95% less energy<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;than primary production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">However, currently more than one million tons of used aluminum scrap leaves Europe, something that&nbsp;<em><strong>it can be avoided by investing in recycling plants<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">By 2030, the demand for aluminium in Hydro's main markets is expected to grow by 3% per year, and that&nbsp;<strong><em>the demand for low-carbon aluminum<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;outperform the rest of the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">In the case of the Torija project, it will complement the offer of the group's plant in Azuqueca de Henares, and will allow&nbsp;<em><strong>the development of a wider range of value-added products<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;for the Iberian market, such as electric transport solutions, building systems and renewable energy applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1280\" src=\"https:\/\/pulsarproperties.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/Hydro-Aluminio-1920x1280.jpg\" alt=\"El proyecto de Torija complementar\u00e1 la oferta de la planta del grupo en Azuqueca de Henares.\" class=\"wp-image-1332\" srcset=\"\" sizes=\"auto, (min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) and (max-width: 1280px) 1280px, (min-width: 1281px) 1920px, 100vw\" data-srcset=\"\" \/><\/figure>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>La inversi\u00f3n total del proyecto se estima entre los 130 y 140 millones de euros, dependiendo del dise\u00f1o final, las condiciones del mercado y la evoluci\u00f3n macroecon\u00f3mica.
